How to connect Bluetooth probes and thermometers with Ops Execution

With Crunchtime Ops Execution you can capture and use temperature readings in forms with Bluetooth, and Bluetooth Low-Energy (BTLE), thermometers and probes.

This article provides instructions on how to set up a Bluetooth thermometer, or probe, with your phone or tablet so you can pull temperature readings into the Ops Execution mobile app. Visit our other articles for information on which Bluetooth thermometers are supported and instructions how to fix issues with Bluetooth thermometers and probes.

How to connect a Bluetooth thermometer or probe with your mobile device

Use the following steps to pair your probe or thermometer with your phone or tablet.

1. Turn on Bluetooth
2. Give the Ops Execution app permission to access Bluetooth
3. Turn on your thermometer
4. Open the Ops Execution mobile app
5. The app will automatically connect to your thermometer when you tap a form field for a temperature

Verify and test that the thermometer is paired

Once your Bluetooth probe or thermometer is connected, use the following steps make sure it works in the Ops Execution mobile app.

1. In the Ops Execution mobile app, go to Settings and then Devices
2. Under Devices, you will see the paired and available probes you can use to complete your forms
3. Go to a form with a temperature field and tap the refresh icon
4. After receiving the confirmation message that it is connected, tap the temperature field to record the temperature

Note: If your probe or thermometer does not connect, make sure it is powered on and not in sleep mode.

1. Press the power button ⏻ to turn on the Multifunction Handle
2. Open the Bluetooth pairing screen on your mobile device
3. Select multifunction handle and follow the on-screen steps to pair the probe
4. Press the transfer button ↑ on the multifunction handle to send a reading to the Ops Execution app
