Can I update my existing Daypart times?
Yes, you can change the hours of existing Dayparts after they have been set up. However, it is essential to note that any changes to your Dayparts will inherently introduce minor anomalies, which should diminish over time. Here are some other things you may want to consider before updating your Dayparts:
- Dayparts should always be in 15-minute increments (beginning and ending times should end with 00:15, 00:30, or 00:45).
How can I mitigate discrepancies?
Any changes to your Dayparts will inherently come with minor anomalies that should diminish over time. Here are some ways to mitigate the discrepancies
- Update your Historical/Production Driven By settings to 100% of the current period, so the application will only reference the most recently posted period when anticipating consumption. This setting can be gradually reset to its original value over the next few weeks as sales come in with the updated Daypart information.
- With this method, we also recommend avoiding any "historical" periods, as last year's sales were still based on the old setup.
- Avoid setting your Business Day Begins time in the middle of a Daypart, as this can cause issues with Ideal Hours, Earned Hours, and Tip Pool calculations.
- Test any changes made to your Dayparts in your Test environment to validate functionality before updating your Production environment.
Can I delete an existing Daypart?
Once a daypart has been used in the application, it cannot be removed manually due to the large number of tables that reference this information. If you need to delete a Daypart, please reach out to Crunchtime Support to align expectations and explore mitigation strategies.
