This article outlines the functionality for resetting passwords depending on whether the campus has the "Reset Password" setting enabled. If your campus already has password reset functionality turned on where learners see a “Forgot password” option when they log in to their own profile, this change in workflow will not apply to you.
For Managers and Admins:
- Open Manager Dashboard → locate the learner. Click Reset password.
- A dialog displays the highlighted temporary password. Copy the temporary password and share it with the learner via your secure channel. Click OK to close the dialog.
- Please remind learners they’ll need to choose a new password immediately after signing in with the temporary one.
For Learners:
- Learners will need to reach out to their manager to obtain a new temporary password.
- Once you received your temporary password – open the PWA and sign in with your username and the temporary password provided by your manager. You’ll see “You’re required to change your password” with two fields for the new password. Enter the same new password in both fields and submit.
- After a successful change, focus returns to the password field and you can proceed to sign in normally.
Common error messages & how to fix:

| New password does not meet requirements. | Ensure: • You’re not re‑using the temporary password. • Your new password is long enough and reasonably strong. • Try a mix of letters and numbers (e.g., at least 8+ characters). |
