Crunchtime Temp Monitoring uses sensors to collect temperature readings for cold storage locations like reach-in coolers and walk-in freezers.
If a sensor stops working and you get a replacement sensor, you can swap out the old sensor for the new one directly in the Ops Execution mobile app. By swapping a sensor, it will keep the history from the previous sensor so you get a full view of temperature history for exporting and reporting. Swapping a sensor, instead of removing and re-installing, also gives you a more accurate offline-sensor percentage.
This article provides instructions on how to swap a sensor. Visit our other articles for troubleshooting tips and installation steps for temp monitoring gateways and sensors.
How to swap a sensor in the mobile app
All users, submitters, managers, and admins, can swap sensors in the Ops Execution mobile app.
- Open the Ops Execution mobile app
- Open the Sensors menu
- Tap on the sensor that you want to swap
- Tap Swap sensor
- On the back of the new sensor, locate the QR code and DevEUI
- In the app, tap Scan QR Code or Enter manually
- Follow the instructions in the app to add the code from the device label and then tap Swap
- You will see a “Success!” message once the new sensor is added
Why does the new sensor appear offline?
The new sensor will appear offline until Ops Execution gets a temperature reading from it. It can take up to 15 minutes for data from the new sensor to load.
How can I see when a sensor was swapped?
There are three ways that you can see if a sensor was swapped in the Sensors menu.
- Sensors will have a Recently Swapped icon next to them.
- In the Sensor Details menu, the temperature graph will have a dotted vertical line to show when a swap happened.
- In the Ops Execution web app, there is a swap log in the Sensor Details menu that shows the date, time, and manufacturer.
