Understanding the Three Types of Attributes

Zenput offers three distinct types of attributes to help you organize and manage your locations effectively:

General Attributes

General Attributes help you drive and assign work to your teams by segmenting form sections, projects, and/or announcements based on your location's unique characteristics such as drive-thru, patio, kiosk, delivery-only, and more.

Geographic Attributes

Geographic Attributes include organizational hierarchies such as State or Province, Country, Region, or Company Name. These attributes help you categorize locations geographically while assigning specific form sections, projects, and/or announcements (e.g., Northwest, Vancouver, Midwest, Northeast).

Calendar Event Attributes

Calendar Event Attributes allow you to create projects that automatically repeat tasks based on operational schedules, such as performing specific actions every hour while a store is open. These operate through three interconnected components:

• Calendar Event Type: Represents a business event occurring at a specific time (e.g., store opening/closing hours, delivery days, employee shifts)
• Calendar Event: Specifies when an Event Type occurs for a particular location on a weekly basis (e.g., "Store 123 opens at 9 AM on Mondays")
• Calendar Day Event: Defines when a certain Event Type occurs for an entire day in a weekly schedule (e.g., "Store 789 is open for deliveries every Wednesday")

Exploring Attributes for a Location

To explore what attributes are assigned to a location, head over to Locations and select the location you'd like to see the attributes for.
In the upper right corner, click the "Explore Attributes" button.
This will show you a list of all the attributes assigned to this location.

Managing General Attributes

Creating New General Attributes

From the dashboard, click on Locations and select the locations you would like to update with a general attribute.
Click on Bulk Actions in the upper left side of the screen. Select "Edit Attributes" – this will open a screen with the available attributes. Click on "Create Attribute" and type the new Attribute you want to add to the selected location.

Adding Existing Attributes to Locations

From the dashboard, click on Locations and select the locations you would like to update with a general attribute. Click on Bulk Actions in the upper left side of the screen. Select "Edit Attributes" – this will open a screen with the available attributes. Find the existing needed attribute and click on the + button next to it to assign it to the selected locations

Removing Attributes from Specific Locations

From the dashboard, click on Locations and select the locations you would like to update with a general attribute. Click on Bulk Actions in the upper left side of the screen. Select "Edit Attributes" – this will open a screen with the available attributes. At the top you'll see all the attributes assigned to the location. Click on the X button next to the attribute you want to remove from the selected locations.

Deleting Attributes Entirely

From the dashboard, click on Locations and select the Attributes tab underneath.
Find the attribute you want to delete. Click the drop-down arrow on the Edit button and click "Delete". Note: This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Editing Attributes

From the dashboard, click on Locations and select the Attributes tab underneath. Find the attribute you would like to edit and click the 'Edit' button. Make your changes and remember to click 'Save' once the change has been made.

Managing Geographic Attributes

Geographic Attributes help you organize locations by geographical and organizational hierarchies. These can be managed through location editing or bulk imports.

Adding Regions to Existing Locations

To add geographic attributes like Regions to your existing locations, you can edit individual locations or perform bulk updates.

Using Geographic Attributes in Reporting

You can make use of geographic attributes in reporting to segment and analyze data by region, state, or other geographic categories.

Setting Up Calendar Events

Using Attributes with Forms, Projects, and Announcements

Using Attributes with Forms

Attributes allow you to have one form for multiple different locations based on which sections or questions should be visible to each location.

When working on a form, from the edit question view, select the visibility option for the specific question or section on the right-hand side. From here, you can then assign up to 5 general and geographic attributes in total that should display the form.

Using Attributes with Projects

Create your project. Choose the option "Assign to Locations by Attribute". You can then select up to 5 Attributes to segment your project.

Using Attributes with Announcements

From the Create Announcement page, select the role you want to assign the announcement to. Select up to 5 Attributes to segment your announcements. Attributes will then be assigned accordingly depending on the role.
