What's the change?
We are renaming two commonly used features in Inventory Management:
- Suggested Order ---> Recommended Order
- Suggested Prep ---> Recommended Prep
The change will be applied to all platforms, including Net-Chef, Enterprise Manager, and the Inventory mobile app.
Why are we changing the name?
We are making this small change to help align terminology across Crunchtime, and to make the product easier to learn - especially for new managers. Using consistent language for similar functionality helps reduce confusion and speeds up onboarding.
Does this mean these features work differently?
Nope! This is a naming change only. There will be no changes to how Recommended Order and Recommended Prep are calculated, including the formula, logic, or data used.
Why "Recommended" instead of "Suggested"?
The term "recommended" better reflects our confidence in the accuracy and value of the calculations. We want to be clear that this is guidance we strongly stand behind, not a casual suggestion.
Will this impact manager's workflows?
No. Managers will continue using the feature exactly as they do today - the only difference they'll notice is the updated name.
When will customers see this change?
The updated name will appear in the mobile app, Net-Chef, and Enterprise Manager in early February 2026.
Do customers need to take any action?
No action is required. This update will be automatically applied.
