A task is an assigned operational checklist or assignment delivered directly to the Ops Execution mobile app to help keep stores aligned on standard operating procedures, audits, and shift requirements.
In some instances, an expected checklist may appear locked, display an expiration banner, or fail to appear entirely. This article provides step-by-step instructions to troubleshoot and resolve common task submission and visibility issues in the Ops Execution mobile app.
For related guidance, you can explore our articles on different types of tasks or how to create tasks from the mobile app.
Task is not appearing in the mobile app
If an expected task does not appear on your device, verify your location hierarchy, task status, and general attributes.
Unassigned location or user in the hierarchy
Tasks will not generate if your user profile or store location is not assigned to a team in the hierarchy.
- In the Ops Execution web app, navigate to the Hierarchy tab and verify that both the user and location are assigned to the correct team.
- If unassigned, update the hierarchy to assign them to the appropriate team. Updated assignments will generate tasks within 24 hours.
Deleted task
A task will disappear from the mobile app if it was deleted or archived.
- In the Ops Execution web app, navigate to the Tasks tab.
- Filter by team, location, status, or due date, or enter the task name into the search bar.
- Select the task to open the information drawer on the right side of the screen.
- Review the information to confirm whether the task was deleted, including who deleted it, and when.
Missing location attributes
Tasks assigned through recurring projects only generate for locations with matching general attributes.
- In the Ops Execution web app, navigate to the Projects tab and click Recurring.
- Locate the project using the search bar, click Edit Project, and scroll to the Assign to Locations section to view required attributes.
- Next, open the Location tab and search for your store.
- Verify and update attributes using either of the following methods:
- Quick Edit: Hover over the location name, click the three-dots menu on the right, and click Edit Attributes. Review the assigned attributes, add any missing attributes, and click Apply.
- Full Profile Edit: Click the store name, select Edit Location in the top-right corner, scroll to General Attributes, add the missing attribute, and click Save.
Task is locked and inaccessible
A task displays a lock icon when your signed-in profile does not match the designated assignee.
- Review the task details displayed on the mobile screen to identify the required user role or assignee.
- Confirm which user profile is actively signed in to the Ops Execution mobile app.
- Sign out and log in with the assigned user credentials to unlock and complete the checklist.
Task displays a past-due banner
A warning banner appears when a task's submission window has closed or when the device’s time settings conflict with store hours.
- Confirm that the current time falls within the allowed checklist submission window.
- Open your mobile device settings and verify the date, time, and time zone.
- Confirm that the device time zone matches the time zone in the Ops Execution mobile app.
- Adjust the time zone settings directly in the mobile app.
Task is not appearing at the expected time
Task availability throughout the day is controlled by Calendar Event attributes assigned to your store location. These attributes map operational shifts and opening/closing windows to specific tasks.
- In the Ops Execution web app, navigate to the Projects tab and click Recurring.
- Locate the project using the search bar, click Edit Project, and scroll to the Recurrence section to view required attributes.
- Next, open the Location tab and search for your store.
- Click Explore Attributes to view all assigned attributes and Calendar Events.
- Verify that the correct Calendar Event attribute (such as the appropriate shift or daypart) is assigned to the store.
- Allow up to 48 hours for calendar attribute updates to reflect on daily tasks and recurring projects.
